When it’s time to cook the recipe, it’s important to start by frying the onion along with the peppers and garlic in a pan with extra virgin olive oil. You need to make sure that all the ingredients are chopped well so that they are poached over medium heat. Add a spoonful of sweet peppers to add flavor and color.

When all the vegetables are already fried, add the chickpeas, bay leaf, cod and salt. Cover the contents of the pan with water so that it can slowly start to boil. 

It is important that it continues to cook until the chickpeas are sufficiently tender. It must be done at low heat. Once the chickpeas have achieved the right texture, you can serve and enjoy the dish.
