Rhubarb can lighten your hair

Rhubarb is a plant with special properties that make it excellent for lightening one’s hair naturally.

This is why it is  one of the most widely used natural methods to achieve good results. To find it in a store, you have to look for a shape like celery and a strange red and green color.

Ingredients

  • 5 tablespoons rhubarb (50 grams)
  • 500 ml of water

Course of action

  • Cut rhubarb, then add water and let it cook for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • After the recommended time, sift and  apply the obtained “tea” in one’s hair.
  • Wet the hair with the treatment and  let it sit for at least 10 minutes.
  • Then rinse with water as usual.

Honey

Honey is one of the best natural alternatives available  to people who want to avoid harsh bleaches with chemicals and the like.

Besides naturally lightening one’s hair, honey does so much more thanks to the content of hydrogen peroxide:  it moisturizes, nourishes and strengthens one’s hair.

Ingredients

  • 84 grams of honey
  • 250 ml of water
  • 250 ml vinegar (optional)

Course of action

To make the honey thinner  , it should be diluted with water before starting. Keep in mind that the thicker it is, the more sticky it will be, and the harder it will be to get out of the hair.

  • Once diluted, cover the hair with the honey; the idea is to  soften the hair at the scalp to get the best results.
  • Then add the water or vinegar (one or the other), cover with a bathing cap and  let it sit overnight.
  • Wash your hair thoroughly the next morning.

However, it is important to note that these natural methods take much longer than the chemical solutions. In addition, the color difference one will see will also be much less extreme than the one one will see with a bleaching or other similar treatments of the hair.
